Meraki! What a gracious word... and the standout hotel from 2018 was Thisoa, Karkalou, Arkadia. Late September, so too early for the skiers and a bit late for the walkers and bulk tourists. Our party of seven were the only guests, so our host had a special meal cooked just for us and joined us. Of all the places we stayed - many with lovely, some quirky rooms - this is the one we still talk about. https://thisoa.gr/
